On Tuesday, July 29, at 8:56 p.m., Highspire Police responded to a domestic violence report on the 1st block of Ann Street, leading to the arrest of Nathaniel H. Clipp, 23.

According to police, investigators found that Clipp had purposefully hurt the family’s six-month-old Australian Shepherd and Pitbull mix and assaulted a female victim.

Officers hurried the dog to Shores Veterinary Care Center for urgent care. Authorities stated that despite efforts to save it, the puppy had to be put down because its injuries were too great.

The release stated that because the owners lacked funds, the on-scene officers voluntarily paid for the veterinary care out of pocket.

According to authorities, Clipp was charged with simple assault, cruelty to animals, and harassment after being taken into custody on the spot. He will appear in court before Judge Judy at 50 Canal Street in Royalton after his preliminary arraignment, which took place at the Dauphin County Booking Center.
