FBI Releases Details, Items Found With Human Remains In York County Investigation
The public is being asked to assist authorities in identifying a woman whose remains were discovered on Monday, December 9, 2024, in a wooded region of Fairview Township, York County.

According to Fairview Township Police, the human remains were found in the 300 block of Pleasant View Road. According to a statement released on Wednesday, June 25, officers have already collaborated with a forensic artist from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) to produce composite sketches that depict the woman’s potential appearance.
Investigators said the woman was white, between the ages of 30 and 60, and had strawberry blonde hair. Her height ranged from 4 feet 8 to 5 feet 3 inches. According to the Mercyhurst Forensic Anthropology Lab, she passed away somewhere between 2018 and 2023, and a nearly full skeleton was found.
Clothing and personal items found on or near the remains included:
- A black “Coogi” outer jacket and a “ZEROXPOSUR” inner jacket
- A large black Nike T-shirt
- Two bras: a black sports bra and a size 34B underwire bra
- Two pairs of pants: black outer pants and gray inner pants
- Knee-high socks
- Three silver-tone rings (including one with three white stones and a filigree bypass ring)
- A black plastic choker necklace
- A rose gold “Fossil” watch
- Black eyeglasses
- A single tie-dye Nike sneaker (youth size 4.5), found several feet away along I-83
The remains have been there for a long time, according to the police. Several lines of inquiry are underway, and DNA samples have been sent for analysis.
The inquiry is still being supported by the Mercyhurst Forensic Scene Recovery Team, York County Detectives Office, York County Coroner’s Office, and York County Forensics Team.
