Around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of University Boulevard West close to Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring after a car veered off the road and collided with a big two-story house. Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue, stated.

A fire was started when the car struck the corner of the home where the gas and electric wires were, and it swiftly spread to the other parts of the house.

According to Piringer, the inside was affected by the gas-fed fire.

The house’s façade and inside suffered significant damage as a result of the fire, which was put out by dozens of firefighters working through the early morning.

A black SUV is crumpled against the burned-out side of the house, which appears to have experienced structural damage, according to a scene photo.

Although everyone was able to evacuate, the fire forced 14 individuals to leave the building. The car’s driver was admitted to the hospital. They were not immediately relieved from their condition.

The cause of the collision is still being looked into.
