A 63-year-old Connecticut man is facing a serious charge after authorities say they discovered multiple videos of child sexual abuse material at his Griswold home.

Daniel Lowell was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, Connecticut State Police said.

Troopers launched an investigation into Lowell last year after uncovering “suspicious messages” on a juvenile’s cellphone, police said. Authorities allege he engaged in inappropriate conversations with at least four underage boys, asking intimate questions about their bodies and sex lives.

Police searched his home and found dozens of child sexual abuse material featuring children as young as 5 years old, authorities said.

Troopers also found recording devices at his home, including in a bedroom that Lowell allegedly offered to several underage boys as a place where they could have sex with their girlfriends, according to the arrest warrant.

Lowell surrendered to Connecticut State Police last week.

He was released on a $150,000 bond, authorities said.
