Hero Cops Hear Cries For Help, Rescue 3 From Burning Nyack Home, Including Unconscious Man
Early on Sunday morning, July 27, responding cops dragged an unconscious man from the second floor of a blazing house in Nyack, rescuing three people, according to authorities.

According to the Orangetown Police Department, the fire started on Summit Street in the Village of Nyack at approximately 3:15 a.m.
Officers confirmed there was an active house fire when they arrived. They discovered an old woman and a male on the first floor attempting to flee after hearing noises coming from inside. Both residents were securely assisted outside by the police.
At that point, they discovered that another man was remained upstairs, where the second level was already completely consumed in flames.
According to the agency, two Orangetown police officers scudded up the steps, located the unconscious man, and pulled him back down to safety. For treatment, he was brought to Westchester Medical Center. They took the other two to Nyack Hospital.
After the rescue, three police officers were also admitted to the hospital.
With assistance from the fire departments in Central Nyack, Orangeburg, Valley Cottage, Piermont, and West Nyack, the Nyack Fire Department arrived and put out the fire. Rockland Paramedics and many EMS units were also there. Residents who have been relocated are receiving aid from the American Red Cross.
The cause is being looked into by Orangetown Police Department detectives, the Nyack Fire Inspector, and the Rockland County Fire Investigations Unit.
