Heroic Connecticut Firefighter Dies After Rushing Into Burning Home In Plainville: Officials

Connecticut fire departments are in sorrow following the death of a first responder in an early Sunday morning fire that started in a home in Hartford County.

On July 27, at approximately 6:30 a.m., crews were dispatched to a residence on Maria Road in Plainville after receiving reports of a fire that was spreading quickly from a two-story house.

One fireman was seriously hurt fighting the fire and sent to the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, where they were subsequently declared deceased, according to fire officials.

Officials have disclosed information regarding the injuries or the injured firefighter’s identification.

The Red Cross is reportedly helping the family after they managed to flee the house fire. It was unknown how much harm had been done.

The cause and origin of the fire in Connecticut are still being investigated as of late Sunday morning.

Local agencies sent their condolences when it was confirmed that the firefighter died from injuries he incurred fighting the fire.

A representative from the neighboring Riverton Volunteer Fire Department wrote, “Our deepest sympathies go out to the Plainville Fire Department, who tragically lost one of their own this morning.”

“The firefighter died from wounds he received while valiantly fighting a house fire.

“Our hearts are with their family, friends, and the entire Plainville Fire community during this incredibly difficult time.”

Investigations into the deadly fire are still ongoing.
