Longmeadow Middle School Librarian Shared Child Porn; Had Box Of Kids Items, Costumes: DOJ

Following a months-long undercover investigation, federal prosecutors have charged a middle school librarian at Longmeadow Public Schools with child pornography.

McGinley, Scott

Holyoke, Massachusetts resident Scott McGinley, 55, is charged with disseminating content about child sexual abuse in an internet organization known as Little Boyz Only. According to the authorities, McGinley allegedly revealed his sexual desire for youngsters between the ages of 2 and 12—and particularly 4 and 7—during talks with undercover agents masquerading as other users.

Prosecutors for the US Attorney for Massachusetts claim that McGinley admitted to the undercover agent that he had students between the ages of 11 and 14 but had not sexually touched them. Additionally, he allegedly made explicit sexual remarks about attractive lads and sat them in a way that allowed him to look beneath their desks and near them.

McGinley is the school librarian at Glenbrook Middle School in Longmeadow and Williams Middle School. A search of his house turned up two iPhones, an Apple Watch, a tablet, two computers, and a lockable Pelican case, according to charge documents. According to investigators, the case included children’s clothes, a Santa costume, diapers, diaper cream, packets of applesauce, and a toolbox filled with bedding and underwear for boys.

More than 100 files containing evidence of child sexual assault were purportedly found on his phone after a forensic examination. According to authorities, his electronic devices are still being reviewed.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office by email at [email protected] or by calling 617-748-3274.

McGinley might be sentenced to five to twenty years in jail, at least five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000 if found guilty.
