Minisink Firefighter Faces Long Recovery After Stroke: Community Rushes To Help
After having a significant stroke, an Orange County firefighter who is renowned for responding quickly to help others is now in need of assistance.

Following a long and difficult recuperation from the medical emergency, Chris Earl, a member of the Johnson Volunteer Fire Department in the Orange County village of Minisink, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, July 19.
In order to meet his new mobility needs, Earl will need a lot of medical attention, therapy, and significant home adaptations during his rehabilitation, according to a GoFundMe started by buddy Antonio Pinheiro on Tuesday, August 12.
The campaign goes on to say, “Chris Earl has always been the one to show up when others needed help,” “It is now our turn to support him!
Earl is involved with his religious community and the Knights of Columbus Council #16365 in addition to his volunteer work as a firefighter. According to his friends, his years of service have been characterized by bravery, kindness, and humility.
The GoFundMe had raised $2,360 of its $24,000 target as of Wednesday, Aug. 13.
