New Rankings Reveal Nation’s Top 50 Airports

Most of the time, you strive to get through the airport rather than enjoy it.

Delays, expensive pretzels, and fluorescent lighting that makes everyone appear to have fallen asleep in baggage claim may make it a soul-crushing pit break.

However, not every airport is made equally. According to a survey of Americans, some are truly enjoyable.

Based on data from over 450 U.S. airports, Yelp ratings, and traveler feedback, a new Washington Post ranking has identified the top 50 in the US.

The Top 10 are as follows:

The rankings favored airports that don’t feel like pandemonium factories rather than the largest hubs.

Accessibility, atmosphere, and what The Post referred to as intangibles—the little pleasures that transform a duty into an experience—were given top priority in the process.

The ranking was shaped in part by over 2,300 reader submissions. Votes were truncated, and the scoring algorithm took into account more than 450,000 Yelp reviews in order to prevent bias against The Post’s DC-area readership.
