NJ Man Arrested Fleeing To Delaware After Fatally Shooting Girlfriend: Prosecutor

After killing his fiancée in East Orange on Sunday, June 29, a 29-year-old Orange man was taken into custody in Delaware, according to the police.

Shalamar Brown was gravely hurt when police arrived at the scene of a gunshot at 15 N 16th St. around 8:30 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. According to investigators, Brown was shot many times in the thigh, belly, and upper chest. According to authorities, woman passed away during surgery after being brought to University Hospital.

According to officials, her boyfriend, Darian Ficklin, ran away to Delaware and was chased for more than an hour by Delaware State Police. According to police, he was captured in Camden County by the New Jersey State Police.

According to officials, Ficklin was accused of murder and several weapons charges.
