Obituary: Domonick Knight

The loss of Domonick Cornwallace Knight, a cherished husband, son, uncle, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, is announced with deep sorrow. He passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 38. Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, on March 4, 1987, Domonick dedicated his life to making people smile with his genuine warmth and lively personality.

Domonick was an ardent poet and musician who devotedly followed his artistic aspirations. He possessed a remarkable ability to compose soul-stirring lyrics and lovely compositions. As evidenced by his perfectionist tendencies, Domonick was writing a book at the time. He handled every project with the meticulous consideration and commitment that characterized his personality.It was almost difficult not to like him because of his captivating demeanor, which brightened up whatever space he visited. He was a wise man who had a remarkable talent for relating to people. He knew people everywhere he went, which demonstrated his sincere interest in the world. In addition to being a music enthusiast, Domonick was a standout track and field athlete in high school, competing in a variety of events such as the 100, 200, 400, and triple jump, and setting four indoor track records.Apart from his passion for sports and the arts, Domonick also loved the outdoors. Fishing, camping, and just being in nature brought him joy and serenity. He demonstrated the same dedication and work ethic in his diverse career options, which included professional truck driving, boat work, and roofing, as he did in all facets of his life.

He was assigned as a Military Police officer in the US Army, where he enthusiastically served his country. Despite his short tenure, he brought with him the self-control, moral character, and sense of obligation that characterized his entire life.Domonick leaves behind his godson, Bryan Phillips III, his cherished wife, Kristen Knight, and his children, Nieema, Lorena, Jade, and Domonick II. Along with his parents, Anthony and Brenda Knight, Deborah Miller, who was like a second mother, and a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, he is also survived by his siblings, including brothers Joseph Davis, Antonio Barnes, Anthony Knight, and Sulaymaan Miles, and sisters Danielle Ogarro, Antionette Brooks, and Doris Souza.On Saturday, August 2, 2025, family and friends will come together to celebrate Domonick’s life. Calling hours will take place at Memorial Funeral Home, located at 375 Broadway, Newport, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Following this, at 4:15 p.m., funeral services will take place in the funeral home.
