A hunt for 19-year-old Abdul-Jabril Cooper, who is wanted for the September 2024 rape of a student at Penn State’s Abington campus, was announced by the US Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force on Monday, August 18.
Cooper turned himself in to the Penn State University Police on Tuesday, August 19, according to confirmation from federal authorities. He is currently facing numerous charges.
On July 16, a rape warrant was issued by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for Cooper’s arrest.
Cooper is accused of raping a female student inside his campus apartment; he has subsequently dropped out of school. According to investigators, they offered him the opportunity to turn himself in, but he declined.
As previously stated by Supervisory Deputy US Marshal Robert Clark, the rape of a student on a college campus is a breach of safety that requires prompt justice.
Actively avoiding law enforcement is a sign of guilt, and Mr. Cooper ought to turn himself in right away.
