A person was shot several times at an Orange County apartment on Tuesday night, July 1, and police are looking into the incident.

Police on the scene confirmed that the victim was struck by gunshot inside the apartment when the incident occurred at 8 City Terrace in Newburgh on Tuesday at approximately 6 p.m., according to Mark Lieb of Rockland Video Productions.

Lieb claims that the individual was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital after being shot, possibly in the leg and stomach. The victim’s identify and health have not been made public.

No arrests have been made, and police have not yet disclosed what caused the shooting. A motive is yet unknown.

Officers were still collecting evidence on the scene Tuesday night as part of the continuing investigation.
