On September 10, the Jane Pickens Theatre & Event Center in Newport will host a special screening of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, presented by Rhode Island Public Broadcasting Service and The Public’s Radio.
The film starts at 7:30 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are offered based on donation levels, and the event functions as a fundraiser for Rhode Island PBS.
One ticket, standard popcorn, a soft drink, and an annual Rhode Island PBS membership that includes access to PBS Passport streaming are all given to those who donate $60. The same bundle is given to those who donate $75, along with the choice of wine, beer, or cocktail as an alcoholic beverage.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in period-appropriate clothing for the evening’s costume competition. A prize package from Downton Abbey is awarded to the winner.
The Crawley family and estate employees are followed in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale as they manage the 1930s, welcoming change and guiding the estate into the future.
Reservations for tickets are available at ripbs.org/downtonabbeyevent. For additional information, call 401-222-3636 to reach Rhode Island PBS.
49 Touro St., Newport is the address of the Jane Pickens Theatre & Event Center.
