Days after investigators made surveillance photographs public and appealed for assistance, a guy from New York was apprehended for allegedly snatching goods off porches in Fairfax County, according to police.
Around 1 p.m. on June 25, a patrol supervisor in Hybla Valley noticed 25-year-old Luis Sena riding an electric scooter close to Sherwood Hall Lane, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
According to authorities, Sena was identified by officers based on images made public earlier this week that showed a guy stealing parcels in Springfield and Annandale while riding a scooter.
According to officials, he was apprehended without incident after being stopped in the 7900 block of Richmond Highway, recognized, and taken into custody.
Sena is currently being charged with fugitive from justice and grand larceny. The Fairfax County Adult Detention Center is holding him without bond.
The arrest was made eight days after police were called to two package thefts that occurred throughout the day on Alberta Street in Springfield and Shelley Lane in Annandale. In both cases, a suspect fled on an electric scooter.
The inquiry is ongoing, according to the police.
