Severe Storms Will Have Flooding Downpours, Damaging Winds That Could Knock Out Power
The Northeast will be hit by a powerful system that is full with thunderstorms, some of which will be severe.

Those storms on Sunday, July 27, could strike regions from southwestern New England to the mid-Atlantic in the afternoon and evening with severe wind gusts that might result in power outages and heavy rains that could create flash flooding.(Refer to the AccuWeather image above.)
Major highway traffic may slow down as a result of the storms, and major airports in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and New York City may have delays.
Heat advisories are in effect for numerous areas from late Monday morning through early Tuesday evening, July 29, with mostly sunny skies and daily highs in the 90s predicted for Monday, July 28 through Wednesday, July 30.
