Shae McCusker, Former Waterford Police Officer, Dies At 30

On June 28, Shae McCusker passed away. Before life pushed him in a new route, he became a police officer, just like his late father.

According to his obituary on the Bradley Funeral Home website, Shae, of Marlton, died suddenly on Saturday, June 28 at the age of just thirty.

According to his obituary, Shae attended Kean University after graduating from Cherokee High School, where he played men’s lacrosse and obtained a degree in criminal justice. Later, he became a police officer like his father, Stephen McCusker, who died before him, after graduating first in his class from the Camden County Police Academy and joining the Waterford Township Police Department.

As of Thursday, July 3, George Meyer and Brittany McCusker’s AGoFundMe campaign has generated over $43,700 to cover burial expenses and assist his fiancée, Kelly Ethridge.

As we recall Shae, the word “lucky” continues cropping up, according to the organizers. It’s a blessing to have known him, loved him, and been fortunate enough to see and hear him grin and laugh.

Shae lived life to the fullest because she loved it so much. However, the campaign claims that his love of life was insignificant compared to his love for his friends, family, and, of course, his fiancée Kelly, who was his greatest friend and partner. The money will also be used to assist her in covering any upcoming costs.

The visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home, located at the intersection of Route 73 and Evesham Road in Marlton, and is open to family and friends. At Little Mill Country Club, a celebration of life will start at 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial ceremony at noon.
