According to authorities, a Silver Spring swim instructor is accused of sexually abusing two kids while he was working at a community facility in Maryland.

After an inquiry into the teacher’s inappropriate interactions with the children, Tyler Wang Ombe-Gichuru, 25, was taken into custody by the Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit (CVAA) of the Prince George’s County Police Department.

According to authorities, two victims under the age of ten came forward to an adult last week on Tuesday, July 22, regarding the alleged sexual assaults.

According to investigators, Wang Ombe-Gichuru was contracted by the victims’ family to provide private swim lessons at the Upper Marlboro community facility where the attacks took place.

The individual is not a community center employee, according to the police.

Additionally, detectives discovered that Wang Ombe-Gichuru, who works at a trampoline park in Laurel, met the victims’ family for the first time, according to authorities.

In addition to several other sexual offenses, Wang Ombe-Gichuru is charged with two counts of second-degree assault and rape of a minor under the age of thirteen.

The Department of Corrections is presently holding him without bond.
