Roberts, Kelly Charged After Phillipsburg Home Shot Up
Authorities said Thursday, July 3, that a Pennsylvania stolen automobile was left at the scene of a shooting that left a New Jersey home covered in bullets while occupants were inside.

The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office reports that at around 1:50 a.m. on Monday, June 30, officers responded to the 90th block of Mercer Street and arrested Alfatir T. Kelly, 26, of Phillipsburg, and Dorien E. Roberts, 18, of Port Murray.
A ShotSpotter alert prompted the dispatch of Phillipsburg Police. Police discovered several shell casings, a handgun, and a stolen Pennsylvania car, but no victims were recovered.
According to an inquiry, three persons were inside a house on Mercer Street when nine bullets impacted it.
Kelly and Roberts were apprehended after allegedly escaping on foot. A pretrial detention hearing is scheduled for next week, and both are presently being held at the Warren County Correctional Center.
The pair is accused of:
- Conspiracy to possess a weapon for an unlawful purpose (Second Degree).
- Conspiracy to unlawfully possess a handgun (Second Degree).
- Conspiracy to commit criminal mischief by firing into a residence (Third Degree).
- Three counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assaul by firing into a home with occupants (Third Degree).
In New Jersey, the maximum penalty for second-degree offenses is ten years in prison; the maximum penalty for third-degree offenses is five years.
