Gabriel Alvarez, Of Stratford, Killed In Bronx Shooting

A 22-year-old male from Connecticut was one of the two people shot dead in an early-morning shooting in the Bronx, according to New York City authorities.

On Monday, July 28, Stratford resident Gabriel Alvarez was slain in the Throggs Neck area, the New York City Police Department said in a press statement.

Around six in the morning, NYPD police received a 911 call stating that two individuals had been shot on Brush Avenue. Authorities reported that 21-year-old Adam Waldropt had been shot in the stomach and buttocks, and that Alvarez had been shot in the shoulder and armpit.

Both were taken by paramedics to Jacobi Medical Center, where they were declared deceased.

According to CBS News New York, surveillance footage showed dozens of people meeting in a car just prior to the incident.

Five live bullets and thirteen shot casings were found by NYPD police at the location.

As of Tuesday night, no one has been taken into custody, but authorities claimed they are looking for two individuals who fled the area on a scooter or moped while wearing masks.
