Pura Scents Recalls 852K Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers

Due to concerns that youngsters could swallow loose magnets in the detachable cover, more than 850,000 aroma diffusers are being recalled.

Pura Scents recalled a fragrance diffuser in July 2025.

On Thursday, July 24, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Pura Scents was recalling approximately 851,400 of its Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers. In Canada, about 1,100 were also sold.

Five magnets inside the detachable front cover are the main source of the problem since they could break away and be swallowed. The magnets may attract within the body if swallowed, resulting in infections, intestinal obstructions, or even death.

There have been three reports of magnets coming loose thus far. The CPSC says there have been no confirmed injuries.

The diffusers measure roughly 4 inches in length and width. Between August 2023 and May 2025, they were offered for sale for roughly $50 on websites run by Pura, Amazon, and Target.

Customers are advised to keep it out of the reach of youngsters and pets and to remove and discard the detachable cover right away. Pura is reaching out to known buyers individually and is providing a complimentary new cover.
