SWAT Team Responds To Englewood Man Barricaded In Bedroom, Police Say

Authorities said a SWAT standoff was triggered when a 35-year-old Englewood man locked himself in his bedroom and refused to leave, leading to his hospitalization.

Around 7:46 a.m., a family member called the Englewood Police Department to report that the guy was acting strangely, and the department arrived at the residence on Genessee Avenue, according to Lt. Fred Pulice.

The man refused to comply and had locked himself in his bedroom when the police came.

According to Pulice, the Regional Support Team (RST) of the department replied and made an effort to engage in dialogue with the person. when an hour or so, officers entered the bedroom without any problems when those attempts failed, according to Pulice.

According to Pulice, the man was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center for medical attention.
