Teen Stabs 13-Year-Old During Fight In New Cassel: Nassau Police

Nassau County police said Wednesday, July 30, that a 15-year-old boy is suspected of stabbing a 13-year-old during a fight that involved about 20 young people in New Cassel.

Detectives said that at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, July 28, officers from the Third Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a huge fight. The throng had dispersed by the time police arrived, but they discovered a 13-year-old boy who had been stabbed in the left hand and right arm.

According to authorities, the confrontation started as a dispute between the 13-year-old and the 15-year-old suspect before getting out of hand when the suspect stabbed the victim.

The 15-year-old was later found by investigators at a hospital receiving treatment for a laceration on his finger. He was apprehended without any problems.

According to officials, the young defendant faces charges of misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and felony assault in the second degree. His initial arraignment is set for Tuesday, July 29 at Westbury’s Family Court, located at 1200 Old Country Road.
