Tesla Crashes Into Maryland Trooper s Cruiser On I-495 In Greenbelt, Police Say

According to authorities, a Tesla struck a Maryland State Trooper’s vehicle as he was looking into a collision on the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County, sending him to the hospital early on Saturday morning.

While investigating a crash on the Capital Beltway early on Saturday morning, a Maryland State Trooper was hit.

According to state police, the trooper, who is assigned to the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack, was rear-ended at 2:44 a.m. on the inner loop of I-495 near Greenbelt Road while in a marked patrol car with emergency lights on.

According to authorities, Teo Kim, 34, of Hanover, the driver of the gray Tesla, was also hurt and transported to Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center.

Officials said on Saturday afternoon that the trooper had been freed after being transported by paramedics to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

According to the police, impairment might have had a role in the collision.

After consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, charges are still pending.

The College Park Barrack is still investigating the crash.
