The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center is offering a lineup of enhanced film screenings with post-movie discussions, live music, and themed parties throughout July.
“It’s hot in Newport this summer, and there’s no better way to cool off than catching new and classic flicks while supporting local businesses,” said Alex Whitney, General Manager of The JPT.
The series begins Friday, July 19, at 4:30 p.m. with “
Georgia O’Keeffe: The Brightness Of Light,
” a documentary about the artist known as the “Mother of American Modernism.” Voiced by Claire Danes and narrated by Hugh Dancy, the film chronicles O’Keeffe’s century-long influence on American art. Producers Paul Wagner and Ellen Casey Wagner will host a Q&A following the screening.
Monday, July 22, features a Bob Dylan tribute ahead of the Newport Folk Festival. “
