Matthew Berman is charged with stealing almost $23,000 worth of expensive golf equipment from a Norwalk location of Golf Galaxy.
According to authorities, numerous expensive clubs valued at over $23,000 were stolen from a Norwalk Golf Galaxy business on Connecticut Avenue in February.
Police in New York saw a similar pattern to other high-end thefts there where someone had stolen thousands of dollars’ worth of pricey equipment when Norwalk investigators exchanged information from the robbery with other local agencies.
According to Norwalk police, their inquiry led them to 41-year-old Bronx resident Matthew Berman. On Wednesday, June 25, he turned himself in.
According to authorities, he faces charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief in Connecticut. A $200,000 bond was being used to hold him.
