Three Newark Burglars Busted Breaking Into Homes: Police

Authorities said Wednesday, July 30, that four thieves, including three minors, had been apprehended and charged following their attempts to enter into residences in Marlboro.

According to Marlboro police, around 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, a resident on Witherspoon Way called 911 to report that someone was trying to open his rear sliding glass door while strolling up his back patio. According to authorities, the robbers left the area in a black vehicle after the homeowner yelled at them.

According to authorities, a resident on Whipple Way called 911 again to report that someone was trying to enter his basement but was unsuccessful and had left the area. According to police, officers saw a car on School Road East that was similar to the one that ran away from Witherspoon Way.

After a car stop, the four burglars were taken into custody. “Police said.” According to police, a 17-year-old Plainfield resident, two 17- and 16-year-old Newark residents, and 18-year-old Kazi Baker of Newark were arrested and charged with attempted burglary.
