: Shark Shows Up At Bird & Betty’s During Hurricane Erin And Won’t Leave: Report
Late Thursday night, August 21, when the storm’s floods forced it out of the sea, a small sand shark walked up to the outdoor host stand at Bird & Betty’s in Beach Haven, according to NJ Advance Media.
During Hurricane Erin, Bird & Betty’s had a sand shark.
In an Instagram post, the club joked that while fish are buddies, they are not often our clients. They also said that tonight, Beach Haven cops had to preserve the local wildlife rather than checking IDs.
An cop may be seen on camera removing the shark and returning it to the sea.
According to NJ Advance Media, the shark was initially seen wriggling in floodwaters in the parking lot. It seems to keep returning even after being put back in the bay. According to NJ Advance Media, a security worker finally brought the shark back to its oceanic habitat.
After a brief cleanup, the restaurant reopened for normal Friday night entertainment the next evening.
