Keyon Slaughter Admits To Murder Of Dana Bailey In DC

According to federal investigators, a Maryland man has entered a guilty plea to the cold-blooded shooting death of his girlfriend’s husband inside their apartment in Washington, DC.

Dana Bailey, Jr. was murdered in Southeast Washington, DC, and Keyon Slaughter was charged with her murder.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Keyon Slaughter, 28, of Waldorf, admitted to second-degree murder while armed in the 2022 shooting death of Dana Bailey Jr., who was shot once in the chest after learning of an affair between Slaughter and his wife.

Investigators claim that Slaughter confronted Bailey about the relationship when he arrived at his flat on E Street SE early on the morning of December 5, 2022.

After taking out a.40 caliber revolver, he shot Bailey once in the chest before escaping the District and eventually making his way to North Carolina.

Bailey’s wife, who was also charged, entered a guilty plea to obstructing justice in connection with the case, according to federal authorities.

On Friday, June 20, Slaughter pled guilty in DC Superior Court, agreeing to a sentence of 16 years in prison and five years of supervised release. The date of sentencing is August 29.

Authorities pointed out that at the time of the murder, Slaughter was under supervised probation for a 2019 Charles County conviction for armed robbery.

Since his arrest in July 2023, he has been detained without posting bail.
