Police claim that a teenager from Wolcott had over 300 child pornographic files on electronic devices in his home, leading to significant accusations against him.

After turning himself in this week, 19-year-old Evan Harris was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, according to Wolcott Police.

Following two tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to Wolcott police on April 30, investigators got to work. According to officials, the guidelines issued cautioned against potential internet conduct associated with the sharing and possession of materials pertaining to child sexual abuse.

Investigators were able to connect the action to Harris after reviewing the reports.

On May 31, a month later, Wolcott conducted a search of Harris’ house and gathered a number of electronic devices for forensic examination.

According to investigators, that investigation turned up 321 files containing evidence of child sexual assault.

According to officials, Harris is being jailed on a $200,000 bond.
