Mugisha Jeanbosco Convicted Of Killing Leon Wilson Jr.
A jury convicted a Worcester man of killing Leon Wilson Jr., age 23, during a violent robbery in Fitchburg, and sentenced him to life in prison.
In 2019, Mugisha Jeanbosco was arrested in Quincy on an unrelated gun charge.
For the July 11, 2019, violent attack in Pie Alley, 27-year-old Mugisha Jeanbosco was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery. Jeanbosco will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release. August 1 is the date of sentencing.
The case also included charges against Jonathan Baez, 25, of Worcester, and Jason Robinson, 39, of Fitchburg. Both are charged with accessory after the fact of murder and armed robbery. On August 25, they are scheduled to appear in court.
Wilson was shot close to the intersection of Blossom Street and Day Street in Fitchburg at approximately nine o’clock at night. He was taken by paramedics to Leominster Hospital, where medical professionals declared him deceased.
The Fitchburg Police Department provided the evidence, and Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. commended Assistant District Attorneys Brett Dillon and Shayna Woodard for obtaining the guilty verdict.
According to his obituary, Leon was born in Leominster in 1996 and excelled in basketball, football, and track & field while attending Gardner High School.
